John and Jill Bard opened the doors to Eat Pizza! in August 2006. 

Eat Pizza! has been long in the making in the mind of business and pizza minded John Bard, who has worked in the pizza and deli industry for the last twenty years. John has enjoyed a variety of positions in the industry, including pizza maker, assistant manager and manage for several smaller Oregon pizzerias, and then training director, director of franchise operations, and finally director of franchise development for a large franchise chain based out of New York. 

Fate stepped in the day he was asked to resign from his “cushy corporate job” in a housecleaning operation; only a few weeks later, after seeing an ad for a deli for sale in a pizza shape triangle building on Southwest Morrison, John and Jill purchased the former “Daily Double Espresso” business, with intentions of creating their dream pizza place. 

Having never found satisfactory pizza in Oregon after a move from the East Coast, Jill was delighted to have the opportunity to finally be able to eat pizza the right way!  Only a few short months later, Eat Pizza! was born.  When asked what they love the most about Eat Pizza, they say, “Making our customers happy!  It is the most phenomenal feeling to have a customer tell us that our pizza is the best in Portland, or even the best they’ve ever tried!  We strive for excellence in everything we do, especially food and customer service!”
